Pastor's Column
The man whispered, "God speak to me." And a meadowlark sang. But the man did not hear.
So the man yelled, "God speak to me!" And the thunder rolled across the sky. But, the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said, "God, let me see you." And a star shined brightly. But the man did not notice.
And the man shouted, "God, show me a miracle!" And life was born. But the man did not know.
So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me God, and let me know you are here!" Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.
Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you expect it to be.
I came across this anonymous poem and thought about the many ways we are truly blessed every day --- and the ways we often overlook those special "God moments" in life. As our newsletter is being put together, I am in the midst of trying to remember names; who do we now have in the hospital (and what hospital they are in); and to which family do they belong! Our first month has been a very busy month. Thank you so much for making my family so welcomed her at Mt. Zion. Many friendships have already been developed that will be life lasting. To Danny and all that worked with him to make the parsonage ready for move in --- You did a wonderful job!
What an awesome Vacation Bible School. The Lord Jesus Christ gave us a wonderful opportunity to offer Jesus Christ to a lot of different children. Our Vacation Bible School staff were wonderful!
Now, as I sit here at my computer and look at my calendar, I see that what's on schedule for the next few months. School will be starting in a few weeks. The big Dinner will soon be here. Charge Conference meetings will soon be starting. When do we catch our breath? I guess that will be sometime later on.
Don't forget the poem that I started with. Don't miss God's Blessings because it's not packaged as we may expect it to be.
Take care and may God's Blessings be with you today! Donald
